captain and mates are lifelong fisherman with many
years knowledge of the tricky ocean waters around
Watch Hill, Block Island, Montauk and the Northeast
Canyons. We are confident in our ability to
recommend the best times to catch that fish of a
lifetime and we also know the best baits to
accomplish it. We are always ready to take you to
the hottest fishing spots near the Ocean State in
order to target just the right fish for you.

► Our Offshore Charters:
We target mako shark, thresher shark, porbeagle
shark, bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, longfin
albacore tuna, bigeye tuna, swordfish, wahoo,
mahi-mahi, tilefish, cod, pollack, haddock, white
marlin, and of course the majestic blue
marlin. Offshore charter fishing trips will take you
just south of Block Island or out to the offshore
canyons, including Atlantis, "The Tails", Hudson,
and Veatch. Spectacular sea life lives abundantly in
the canyons and you will have a good chance of
seeing whales, dolphins (porpoises) and the many
pelagic birds that inhabit the offshore
waters including gannets, shearwaters and storm
petrels.
► Our Inshore Charters: Most inshore
charter fishing trips will take you a short distance
from Watch Hill Point where you will have great
views of the Watch Hill Lighthouse and Napatree
Point. There is also great fishing along Misquamicut
Beach and the trophy rich areas around Block Island
and Fishers Island. We will target such species as
striped bass, bluefish, tautog (blackfish), black
sea bass, scup, fluke, false albacore, green bonito,
and winter flounder.
► Our Sightseeing/Evening Cruises:
We offer sightseeing and evening cruises for those
folks who are not interested in fishing but want to
enjoy a boat ride affording them a scenic water view
of the coast of Rhode Island, Connecticut and even
Fishers Island, NY. The fall is an excellent time
for sightseeing by boat because you can get a
nautical perspective of the beautiful color changing
foliage. Imagine sitting back with bottle of bubbly
and enjoying a romantic cruise with that special
person in your life. Hey guys, can you think of a
more romantic setting than a calm evening cruise for
the most memorable proposal?

Viking Marina - Fish Trap is located in
the Viking Marina Boat Yard in Westerly,
RI [directions]
where we have easy fishing access to
Watch Hill, Block Island, Fishers
Island, Montauk, Misquamicut Beach, and
the Northeast Canyons. We have plenty of
parking available for our guests and
we'll even clean and package your catch
when we get back to the marina in the
afternoon.

Watch Hill is an easy
destination to get to and provides access to all
of the great Rhode Island fishing destinations
like Watch Hill Reef, Block Island and Montauk
NY. The Pawcatuck River splits Connecticut and
Rhode Island and flows into Little Narragansett
Bay which feeds into Block Island Sound and
Fishers Island Sound. By car, Westerly, Rhode
Island is an easy two hour ride from New York
City, and believe it or not, a shorter and less
stressful ride than the ride to Montauk, NY from
New York City. A short drive off I-95 brings you
straight to Watch Hill. Watch Hill, Rhode Island
is less than two hours from Springfield and
Boston, Massachusetts.
► Westerly
also has other attractions including Misquamicut
Beach and the Watch Hill Light House. So bring
your family. Even if they do not enjoy fishing
they will have plenty to see and do nearby.
Westerly also has restaurants ranging from fast
food to five star dining. Many accommodations
are available within a 15 minute drive from the
marina. We are also close to the big casinos in
Connecticut, including Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

to one of the casinos to see if your luck
holds at one of the games!
