Block Island and Watch Hill Westerly, Rhode Island Fishing Charters
Fish Trap specializes in exciting Rhode Island inshore and offshore sportfishing charters. We offer inshore striped bass (striper) charters, bluefish and fluke fishing around the always productive Block Island and Watch Hill Reef. Or if you prefer we can head offshore to the deep sea waters for the sport fishing excitement of catching shark, tuna, mahi and wahoo. Fish Trap is docked at Frank Hall Boat Yard in Westerly, Rhode Island and is waiting your call. Anglers coming from the western locations like Connecticut and northern Rhode Island can save nearly 45 minutes driving time each direction over Point Judith charter boats even though the distance to Block Island and other fishing areas is identical.
Captain Tom Logan is a lifelong fisherman with many years knowledge of the tricky ocean waters around Block Island, Watch Hill, Montauk and the Northeast Canyons. Capt. Logan is confident in his ability to recommend the best times to catch that fish of a lifetime and he is one of the more experienced and successful charter captains in RI. Fish Trap is always ready to take you to the hottest fishing spots around RI in order to target whatever fish you have been wanting to catch.
Our Offshore Charters: Fish Trap specializes in spectacular offshore mako and thresher shark fishing as well as those hard fighting schools of yellowfin tuna. Depending on what is currently available we will also target many unique species including bluefin tuna, longfin albacore tuna, bigeye tuna, swordfish, wahoo, mahi-mahi, tilefish, cod, pollack, haddock, porbeagle shark, white marlin, and of course the majestic blue marlin. Our deep sea offshore charter fishing trips will take you just south of Block Island or out to the offshore canyons, including Atlantis, The Tails, Hudson, and Veatch. Spectacular sea life lives abundantly in our Canyons. You will have a good chance of seeing whales, dolphins (porpoises) and a large variety of pelagic birds that inhabit the offshore waters including gannets, shearwaters and storm petrels.
Our Inshore Charters: Most inshore charter fishing trips will take you a short distance from Watch Hill Point where you will have great views of the Watch Hill Lighthouse and Napatree Point. We often fish the trophy rich areas around Block Island and Fishers Island and there is also great fishing along Misquamicut Beach. We will target such RI inshore species as striped bass, bluefish, tautog (blackfish), black sea bass, scup, fluke, false albacore, green bonito, and winter flounder. Our unique full day inshore trips can be designed so that we are fishing for striped bass at first light and then switch to other more active species like sea bass and fluke from about mid-day.
Our Sightseeing/Evening Cruises: We also offer sightseeing and evening cruises for those folks who are not interested in fishing but want to enjoy a boat ride which can afford them a scenic water view of the coast of RI, Connecticut and even Fishers Island, NY. Fall is an excellent time for sightseeing via boat because you can get a nautical perspective of the beautiful color changing fall foliage. Imagine sitting back with bottle of bubbly and enjoying a romantic cruise with that special person in your life. Hey guys, consider a romantic calm evening cruise for that ultra-memorable proposal. We are also now offering Wind Farm trips as well as combination Wind Farm trips and fishing charters.
