We fished around Block island today for a mixed bag of fish. About the only thing we did not catch was fluke and striped bass. The hungry bluefish just would not let the bass near our offerings. We ended up with 2 cod, a limit of seabass and some huge scup. We also caught a false albacore on a seabass rig.
We got a beautiful day to run an offshore charter. We put 2 bluefin tuna and a mako in the cooler. We also released several small bluefin and released a 250# plus thresher. The mako came to the boat first so he was the one that was destined to join us.
Our great anglers finished the day with a full limit of seabass and just a couple fluke short of a full limit! The drift was almost dead the whole day, but when we drifted over fish we were getting multiple hook ups with seabass and fluke. The Jackpot Digger jig was really producing today.
