Fish Trap specializes in exciting Rhode Island inshore and offshore deep sea sportfishing charters. Inshore we catch striped bass (striper), bluefish, tautog (blackfish) and awesome fluke fishing around the always productive Block Island and Watch Hill Reef. Rhode Island also makes a great start point for us to head to the deep sea offshore waters for the sport fishing exhilaration of catching mako shark, yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo. Because Fish Trap is docked at Frank Hall Boat Yard in Westerly, Rhode Island, anglers coming from the western locations like Connecticut and Northern Rhode Island can save nearly 45 minutes driving time each direction which is a better choice than Point Judith, RI charter boats even though the boating distance to get to Block Island and other popular fishing areas is identical.

Our deep sea offshore charter fishing trips will take you just south of Block Island or all the way out to the offshore canyons, including Atlantis, The Tails, Hudson, and Veatch. It's a spectacular treat to encounter the ocean marine life that lives abundantly around our deep sea Canyons. You will have a good chance of seeing whales, dolphins (porpoises) and a large variety of pelagic birds that inhabit the offshore deep sea waters including gannets, shearwaters and storm petrels.
Our Inshore and Near Shore Fishing Charters: Most of our inshore and near shore charter fishing trips will take you a short distance from Watch Hill Point, Rhode Island where you will have great views of the Watch Hill Lighthouse and Napatree Point. We often fish the trophy rich fluke and striper secret areas around Block Island and Fishers Island and there is also great fishing along Misquamicut Beach. Inshore fishing charters target Rhode Island inshore and near shore species such as striped bass, bluefish, tautog (tog, blackfish), black sea bass, scup, fluke, false albacore, green bonito, and winter flounder. Our unique full day inshore trips can be custom designed so that we are fishing for striped bass at first light and then quickly switch to another more active species like sea bass, tautog (tog) and fluke from about mid-day.
Our Sightseeing Evening Cruises: We also offer sightseeing and evening cruises for those folks who are not interested in fishing but want to enjoy a relaxing boat ride. We can provide them a scenic water view of the coast of Rhode Island, Connecticut and even Fishers Island, NY. Fall is an excellent time for sightseeing via our boat because you can get a nautical perspective of the beautiful color changing fall foliage. Imagine sitting back with bottle of bubbly and enjoying a romantic cruise with that special person in your life. Hey guys, consider a calming romantic evening cruise for that memorable and completely unique proposal. We are also now offering custom Wind Farm trips as well as a combination of both Wind Farm trips and an inshore or offshore fishing charters.
