We provide all the fishing tackle and bait necessary. However, if you want to bring your own tackle please discuss it first with the captain so that we can make accommodations for it. In order to help keep our pricing down to the minimum on our charters, when we will be jigging we will supply one free bucktail jig per person. Additional jigs are supplied to our customers and charged at our cost. If you would like to bring along your own jigs and/or Gulp you are welcome to. Please remember that we cannot be responsible for lost or broken fishing tackle.
Our US Coast Guard license allows us to have six paying passengers. US Coast Guard regulations limit the number of passengers to no more than six people, whether they are fishing or not.
All of our guests are covered under our blanket boat license.
Yes, we work closely with Northeast Taxidermy in preparing your trophy fish for transportation to be mounted. In the instance of a released fish, like a billfish, we will take the proper measurements so that you are able to order a perfect replica from Northeast Taxidermy.
You may want to bring a small cooler for your food and drinks but a large cooler is not necessary. However, if you plan on taking fish home, we do recommend that you bring a large cooler and leave it in your vehicle unitl we return to the dock.
Definitely. Although sometimes we catch a protected species, most are allowed to be kept for consumption.
As a part of our service to you, we will clean and package your fish when we return to the marina.
No problem. Unless you hear differently from the captain, it is best to plan to be at the dock at the pre-arranged departure time. If the captain determines that a trip would be unsafe, he will give you your option of rescheduling another day or returning your full refund.
The mate works hard to ensure that you have a safe and successful trip. He is paid only by your tips so it is customary to tip him between 15% and 20% of the charter fee. The captain would be flattered by a tip but certainly does not expect one.
Our USCG license only allows us to have six passengers on board whether or not they are fishing. Please send all charter deposits and checks made out to Fish Trap Sportfishing LLC to our mailing address on the contact page
